I was born in 1959 in Isfahan, to a large and cultured family. In 1986, I set out for Tehran to educate myself in the theoretical and practical principles of painting. Since 1991, I have exhibited my work in 17 solo exhibitions in Iran (Tehran, Isfahan), the US (Los Angeles), and Germany (Heidelberg), and more than 55 group exhibitions in Iran (Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz), the US (Los Angeles), Germany (Freiburg), Finland (Helsinki), Italy (Padua), Syria (Damascus, Aleppo), China (Beijing), Korea, and Romania.
I have also participated in Environmental Art workshops and festivals in different parts of Iran, and videos of my performance/installation art have been shown in different venues in South Korea, California, and the Pori Museum in Finland. From 2004 to 2011, I was a member of the art group Godar and had 5 group exhibitions with them. I have also done some book illustrations alongside my artistic activities.
In 1991, I founded the Baran workshop and taught art to children and young adults there for 20 years. I still teach painting in my workshop. I am also a member and instructor at the Painters’ Association of Isfahan. Since 2003, I have been working with the Ranginkaman Institute for the Elderly as painting instructor and head of the art department.
